NASCAR PRIZE PURSES AND UPDATES
I have emailed out information from NASCAR with regards to the 2010 Race for the Championship, this also includes the payouts for each Division at each NASCAR Sanctioned Track. EIR has four Divisions: Division I - Late Models; Division II - Thunder Cars; Division III - Feature Stocks and Division IV - NASCAR Grand Nationals (Baby Grands). There is also additional information posted on this page on March 2nd, it offers information on some additional NASCAR programs (i.e. National Ranking for each of the Divisions and invitations to the NASCAR Banquet in November for each of the winners in each Division). The NASCAR Banquet is truly a unique experience and I can guarantee you that each one of you will be treated royally.

Here is a brief outline:

National Championship - $25,000; $10,000; $5,000 (1st, 2nd, 3rd)

State & Provincial Championship: Because EIR is the only NASCAR sanctioned track in Alberta, the top three in our Division 1 will automatically qualify for the $2,000; $1000 and $500 (1st, 2nd, 3rd); Also in Division I, the top ranking NASCAR Rookie wins an additional prize money award and special recognition at the NASCAR Banquet.

Payouts:

Division I

$3000, $2000, $1200, $800, $650, $600, $550, $450, $400 and $350.

 Division II

$1000, 500, 300, 200, 200, 200, 200, 150, 150, 100

Division III

$500, 250, 225, 200, 200, 175, 150, 100, 100, 100

 Division IV

$300, 225, 200, 150, 125, 100, 100, 100, 100, 100

This clearly shows how much the racers are paid back by NASCAR each year and the reason why memberships are so important. Of importance to note, EIR pays a significant sanctioning fee for every event so that we can implement this NASCAR program for the Racers!

Super Moto Class

We have had some inquiries with respect to the Super Moto Class at EIR. This class is very easy to get into. Basically we allow any size motocross bike and any level of racer. For safety gear simple motocross attire is fine, leathers are very good. The course is run partly on the sand along the front of pit row and then about 3/4 around the pavement on the track. If you are interested in participating please feel free to email us anytime!

January 2, 2010

Happy New Year to everyone! Before you know it, May will be here, the snow will be melted and we'll be on the track again! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and we wish the very best to everyone in 2010.

We have posted a draft 2010 Race Schedule on the website. If anyone needs a registration form for their EIR Class for 2010, please email me and I will send you one right away. Remember to register before January 31, 2010 to reserve your number and to take advantage of the early registration fee cost.

You will see on the schedule that we have included a class called Feature Stock Soccer. This will replace the Feature Stock Spin to Win Class as a novelty event. How this works is we will set up a goal on each side of the front straightaway, teams of 2 Feature Stocks will try to make a goal punting a big soccer ball into the goal, using their Feature Stock Cars.

The Future Stock Class will be our 12-15 year old racers.

We have not yet heard the fate of this year's Powerama, in addition the Motorcycle Show typically held in January will not include the indoor motorcyle racing event. We will have to be very creative in finding venues to showcase Edmonton Int'l Raceway as events such as Powerama decline. We will however be working very hard to attend all local parades including the Capital Ex Parade in Edmonton. Another great opportunity this year will be working very closely with the Reynolds Alberta Museum as they showcase Automobile Racing in 2010 in addition to the Wetaskiwin Air Show scheduled for August 7 & 8, 2010.

If anyone has any car shows or displays that they are participating in, please let me know and I will be happy to provide you with complimentary tickets, etc. to distribute.

Please keep in touch and please feel free to discuss any of your marketing ideas with us.

Take care!

December 9, 2009

Rules for the NASCAR Late Models, NASCAR Thunder Cars & NASCAR Feature Stocks are now ready. If  you haven't received your copy by email or you would like a copy, please contact us and I will get those to you. We are currently working on the Hit to Pass Rules for 2010 and should have those done soon.

New Class for 2010
We are in the process of developing a class for young racers 12-15 years. This class will use the Feature Stock cars and rules but only allow that age group to race together. If you are 14 or 15 years old you are welcome to race in both this class and the Feature Stock Class. The 12-15 year old class will race twice a month and will be placed on the schedule.

Our car counts are already looking very good for 2010. Registrations have been sent out, please get your registrations in by January 31, 2010 to take advantage of the early registration fee.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for your patience as I continue to figure out how our website works! I will endeavour to keep everyone posted with up to date information as quickly as possible.

Right now we are reviewing and revising our 2010 rules for the NASCAR Late Models, NASCAR Thunder Cars, NASCAR Feature Stocks and Hit to Pass. We will be introducing a new class for the 2010 season, using the Feature Stock Class Rules but allowing only 12-15 year olds to participate. This class would run approximately 1-2 times per month and only allow the 12-15 year olds to race together. There will be more information coming out on this very soon.

As you may know, NASCAR has introduced the "NASCAR Learner's License" this will allow 14 and 15 year olds to purchase a NASCAR license for the 2010 Race Season; however it only applies to the Charger Classes and not the Feature Class. In addition NASCAR has introduced a National Ranking System for racers in all the Charger Classes, this means that you will be ranked throughout North America and recognized by NASCAR at year end. I am not totally sure of the full details, but once released I will let you all know.

Our 2009 Banquet was a complete success thanks to Michele & Roy Wallace, Todd and Merrill Knowles and Lee Krause. If you missed it, you missed a very good time. Book your calendars next year for November 20, 2010!

This is only a quick update, I will continue to work on this website.

Talk to you all very soon!

Sincerely,

Loretta Thiering
