COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT WITH EDMONTON INT'L RACEWAY IN WETASKIWIN

Edmonton Int’l Raceway (EIR) is a major contributor to the community of Wetaskiwin, both City and County. EIR provides a safe and controlled environment for racing competitors ages 8 years and up.

Together with the Wetaskiwin Stock Car Club EIR offers Charitable Organizations the opportunity to host their 50/50 fundraising at the Raceway. Each race night a different organization is invited to sell 50/50 tickets at the raceway so that they can raise funds for their organization.

EIR is proud to host another spectacular Canada Day Event in 2023. Everyone is welcome to attend, free of charge to take in all the fun and excitement including Stock Car Racing, DJ with Dancing, Car Show, Games for the Kids and Face Painters followed by a HUGE Fireworks Show at 11 pm!

EIR donates over $30,000 yearly in NASCAR Stock Car Test Drive Experiences to many various Charitable Fundraisers & Silent Auction, these Experience Packages do very well in raising funds for local charitable campaigns.

EIR continues to partner with many local community functions by providing them the opportunity to set up information booths, sell raffle tickets and other fundraising events at the Raceway for the entire Race Season.

If anyone is interested in hosting any type of fundraising event at EIR, please reach out to Loretta Thiering Here

CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS HOSTING 50/50 FUNDRAISERS AT EIR IN 2023

On 18 November 2013, the Taylor family lost their beloved 17 year old daughter Emily lost her battle with depression and ended her life. We honour her memory by helping other adolescents who struggle with mental unwellness. Since 2016, Emily's Memorial Motorcycle Ride raised over $110,000 for CASA House recreational programs, the Equine Therapy program and other unfunded and needed CASA initiatives. Emily's Memorial Horse Show which we started in 2019, has raised over $40,000 and we are excited to keep building the Horse Show with our 2023 Horse Show to be held 10 - 13 August 2023 at Hay Lakes Agriplex. All proceeds raised go to CASA Mental Health towards recreational programs for the youth in treatment at CASA House in Sherwood Park.

The Millet Curling Club, established in 1936, is a non-profit organization who relies solely on volunteers, donations and fund raising to operate. The Children's Indoor Play Society is a non-profit organization (35 years running!) created by Moms and Dads to give preschool kids a place to play and interact during the long winter months. It is run by a volunteer board of directors chosen by election from the general membership. CHIPS is a parent supervised playgroup. There are a variety of toys, bikes, slides and climbing structures, blocks and parties. Your child can move from one area to another freely. It is a safe, fun environment for burning off lots of kid energy!

With a tradition that goes back almost a century, Sabres High School Football is one of the many terrific extracurricular activities offered at Wetaskiwin Composite High School. By combining the expectations of on-field accomplishments with the contributions to their school and their community, Sabres Football players grow and learn
in pursuit of the team's mission: "To help student-athletes become better people". The Sabres play in the Central Alberta High School Football 9 a-side League. Last year the Sabres advanced to the League Championship final.
