NASCAR THUNDER CARS
The NASCAR Thunder Car has been a solid class at Edmonton Intl Raceway for more than 18 years. This class allows racers to experience racing in an entry-level class.
There are very few modifications allowed in this class yet the field is extremely competitive putting on an awesome show every night that they race.
This race car can be built using any North American Car, 1955 or newer, rear wheel drive only.
The Thunder Car is an excellent stepping stone for those racers who started in the Feature Stock Class and wish to move forward in their racing skills or you can easily start your racing "career" with the Thunder Car.
IMCA MODIFIEDS
(International Motor Contest Associates Canada Inc.)
www.imcacanada.ca
I.M.C.A. Modifieds exploded onto the Canadian racing scene in 1988 and thundered their way into the hearts of Canadian race fans in four provinces and as well as the N.W.T.'s. These high powered vehicles are famous for their thundering sound and "go hard or go home" style of racing that thrills fans young and old on any given Saturday night.
These Modifieds are full breed racing machines limited only by the small Hoosier racing tire and the engine claim rule designed to keep this high level racing affordable. Don't let these limits fool you, I.M.C.A. Modifieds are piloted by some of the best and most motivated drivers in Canada with many calling Edmonton International Raceway their Home Track.
STACKER RACING
This is a fun class at Edmonton International Raceway. It is a fun and exciting class meant to make the crowd laugh and have a good time watching! We just need to build more of these!
Not nearly as hard to build as they look, you may want to get one going yourself and get involved!
The Racer "on the bottom" controls the gas pedal and the brake and the Racer "on the top" handles the steering. You simply can't miss this one!
COOPER EQUIPMENT
HIT TO PASS
This is a fun, demo derby "type" class. Racers "race" around EIR's paved oval but are not allowed to pass unless they "HIT" the car they pass! These racers put on a great show & it's definitely a crowd pleaser! This class was named Crash Car Class in 2024 but we have decided to return to it's original name of HIT TO PASS!
BUCKS AUTO RACE A WRECK ENDURO
This class is still in the building stages but more cars are being built every season when everyone finds out how fun these cars are to race! The Enduro Cars are a 6 Cylinder, Front Wheel Drive, Automatic - check out the rules, super simple to build and loads of fun to race!
