MISSION
EIR in Wetaskiwin strives to deliver the best & most professional motorsports race program in all of Canada. Our goal is to provide outstanding entertainment experiences for all ages while continuing to build upon a community of loyal racers and fans.

HISTORY
EIR opened in 1967 as a dirt oval as Sunset Speedway and was paved in 1994.In 2005, Sunset Speedway became Edmonton Int'l Raceway in Wetaskiwin and the first (and now only) NASCAR Sanctioned Raceway in Western Canada and continues to race under the NASCAR Banner. Read More.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
EIR has many Volunteer positions and they are a lot of fun! 

RACE TRACK ATTENDANTS
- Assist Fans at the Raceway by offering guidance throughout the race facility, answer race related questions, assist with issues that may arise.
- Saturday Nights from 3:30 PM to 9 PM (finishing time can vary).
- Complimentary Food and Beverage provided.
- Complimentary entry for up to 2 guests per event (excluding the NASCAR NAPA 300).
- Complimentary ticket to year end banquet (depending on number of events worked).
- Training is provided

PARKING ATTENDANTS
- Direct & control car parking on Race Nights - ensure cars are parked in a consistent format
- Saturday Nights from 3:00 PM to 7 PM (finishing time can vary). On busier nights you may be required to assist with cars exiting from the track.
- Complimentary Food and Beverage provided.
- Complimentary entry for up to 2 guests per event (excluding the NASCAR NAPA 300).
- Complimentary ticket to year end banquet (depending on number of events worked).
- Training is provided

TRACKSIDE 
- Various positions include Corner Flagman - assisting the Race Director and Flagman by watching the race action and race incidents on either Corner 1, 2, 3 or 4.
- Safety Crew - Assist the EIR Safety Director and be a part of the Safety Crew. This includes Track incident clean ups, assist with towing as directed by the EIR Safety Director.
- Saturday Nights from 2:00 PM to 9 PM (finishing time can vary).
- Complimentary Food and Beverage provided.
- Complimentary entry for up to 2 guests per event (excluding the NASCAR NAPA 300).
- Complimentary ticket to year end banquet (depending on number of events worked).
- Training is provided.
 

FOOD & BEVERAGE POSITIONS

MAIN CONCESSION
- Various positions include Cashier, Cook, BBQ Station, Concession Food Prep, Licensed Beverage Service
- Saturday Nights from 3:30 PM to 9 PM (finishing time can vary).
- Training is provided.
- Licensed Servers MUST provide a printed copy of current PROSERVE from AGLC.

FRONT GATE CASHIER
- Saturday Nights from 3:30 PM to 9 PM (finishing time can vary).
- Training is provided.

NASCAR NAPA 300 - EIR'S PREMIER EVENT OF THE YEAR - JULY 11 & 12, 2025
We have many Spectator Side & some Trackside positions open for this event. These include Parking, Raceway Attendant, Safety Crew, Food & Beverage, Front Gate Cashier
